Belove Boys' Baseball Bonanza! -REVISED

Well, 2012 was a banner year for the Belove boys!

Carter was drafted to a AAA team this season.  To put this into WOW perspective, Carter was only in the single-A division last Little League season, and was the youngest child in the entire AAA division (as a matter of fact, he was the youngest child allowed in AAA, as his 9th birthday falls exactly on the cutoff date).  He had a good season, playing outfield and second base.  He made some good plays, and hit a couple of doubles.  His team had an excellent season, with a record of 8 wins and 3 losses, and ended as AAA Champions! (Trophy pending)

This season Robert made the Frosh team at Petaluma High School!  Although his coaches initially underestimated him, his value to the team was soon apparent to all.  By the end of the season, he had wowed them as an outfielder, as a first baseman, and as a pitcher, ultimately earning the respect of his peers and coaches alike.  This plaque was one of only 4 awards given to Frosh players!  We see JV in our future!

The 2012 Little League season ends, and our BABA adventure begins this summer with ANOTHER Belove boy...   Our nephew and cousin, Max.  We have spent the last couple of weeks watching Max and his team Lucky 7 play in the Petaluma City playoffs, a series of games that include all Majors teams from the three Petaluma leagues- National, American and Valley.  It was an exciting series, with Lucky 7 coming within one game of the Championship game!

Welcome to the "Summer of BElove!"

Update:
Lucky 7 took 3rd place overall in the Petaluma City Tournament.  This was quite an accomplishment, as the initial pool consisted of 18 Majors teams!

And even more exciting...  Max made 11-year-old All-Stars for Petaluma National!  We look forward to more Belove Boys' Baseball this season!

Episode III

Don't you just love those even-numbered years ('08, '10, '12...) when the Beloves head out on another baseball adventure?  This time we will add three new stadiums and revisit an updated old friend.

We leave Petaluma on June 19, headed for Texas.  We will see the Astros play the Padres on June 27, the Rangers v. our own Oakland A's on the 28th, the Royals against the White Sox on July 13, and Ann's birthday will be celebrated watching the Twins and the A's (twice in one trip!)

The journey this year will also include Fanfest in KC, as well as assorted non-baseball fun along the way!  And you just never know what other baseball activities this adventure will include.  We should be back in Petaluma around July 20.

Join us as the saga continues...
